The California Firehawks reigned over the Brew City Bears in damp conditions.
The California Firehawks picked up a win at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons, topping the Brew City Bears, 4-2. On the mound for California was left-hander LeeLoo Dallas Multi-Pitch. He played a principal role in the triumph. Goro Shigeno earned the save, his 12th, for the Firehawks.
Maverick Tonyon took Brew City hurler "Fire" Aaron Boone deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Firehawks on top, 4-2. In all, Tonyon had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Multi-Pitch. "Successful pitchers do it."
California is now 30-31, while Brew City is 33-28.
