Kingpins Win at Louisville, 5-1
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 22-year old third baseman El Grande Mexicano, the Chicago Kingpins stopped the Louisville Lemurs, 5-1. Picking up the win was Jackson Pollock V. He went 5 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 1 and walked 3. With the win over Louisville, the Kingpins improved to 27-36.
Taiga Saejima had a big solo home run for the Kingpins in the top of the second inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a screwball from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Owain Gambit-Ahead and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Kingpins on top, 2-0.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Saejima told reporters after the game.
