Indianapolis Beats Death Valley, 5-3
|
Kerry Keli helped his team muscle past the Death Valley Scorpions, 5-3. In the game, the Indianapolis first baseman was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Biggus Tittious Smittious was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts. Flop Quads sewed up the save, his 2nd.
The Scorpions had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Apex going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old shortstop Iesuhc Yttef came to the plate. Yttef hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 cutter from Death Valley hurler Zachary Vega III. It was Yttef's 4th double of the year.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Yttef.
Death Valley, with the loss, is still a stout 9-3.
