Demons Snatch Late-Game, 5-4 Win
The Detroit Demons faced a tough opponent in Cancun pitcher Samuel Smoltz, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Demon's Lair at Laser Park by a final score of 5-4. Smoltz went 8.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Losses have been few and far between for the Toros, now 9-3.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, five-time All-Star Biff Slamous had a real shot to win the game. Cancun pitcher J.C. Swishman was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Slamous hit a run-scoring single. The Demons had a walk-off triumph.

"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Slamous said.
