The Kansas City Hepcats and California Firehawks left the fans buzzing.

California starter Wah Wong kept the Kansas City offense from doing much damage. The left-hander leaned on his circle change in leading the Firehawks to a 4-1 win. Jensen Wild picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Sir Devoir suffered the loss. Raul Chamgerlain earned the save, his 11th, for the Firehawks.

In the bottom of the 6th, second baseman Willard Bachmann gave California the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Firehawks had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out single off Kansas City pitcher Sir Devoir changed that -- and California went on to win.

Bachmann said his team "played with focus."

The California win streak is now 5 games.
