Kingpins Edge Firehawks, 8-7
|
Dwaal Ing did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the California Firehawks from being beaten, 8-7, to the Chicago Kingpins at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium. Ing went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Remmy Rattlesnake, now 3-1, was credited with the win in 3.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Marcus DaWorm earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.
Had Joe East not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, East hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Kingpins.
"I just tried to make good contact," said East.
The Kingpins improved their record to 38-29 by beating California.
