Stop Excels, But Armadillos Win
The Amarillo Armadillos overcame a fine performance by Puerto Rico catcher Back Stop to defeat the Ranas, 8-6, at Kay Faraday Memorial Stadium. Stop went 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Amarillo pitcher Aaron Ritter got the win, upping his record to 3-9. Jerry Berry got the loss. Puerto Rico has now lost 5 straight.

Marcus Otatop, the 20-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Otatop contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Amarillo up, 5-4.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Puerto Rico manager . "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
