Amarillo beat Florida on the strength of starting pitcher Crabtin Crunch Jr.'s fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-0. Crunch Jr., now 6-5, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The Armadillos improved their record to 29-40 with the win over Florida.

Amarillo catcher Tony Simms Jr contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a circle change to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 69th hit of the season and put the Armadillos ahead, 3-0.
