McMan Helps Amarillo Cruise to 10-3 Win
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Anchorage Wheelers and Amarillo Armadillos get after it.
Amarillo designated hitter Kevin McMan was a significant contributor in his team's 10-3 triumph over the Anchorage Wheelers. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Armadillos. Ray Kwaza picked up the win, lifting his record to 7-7 on the season. He struck out 3 and walked 6 in 5 innings, while yielding 3 runs.
Tony Simms Jr had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Amarillo first baseman hit a 2-run single. That put the Armadillos in front, 5-3.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Simms Jr told the Amarillo Daily News.
With this game in the books, Amarillo is 34-35, Anchorage 26-43.
