The Amarillo Armadillos faced a tough opponent in California pitcher Ima DudeMan, but did just enough to pull out the victory at PBE Bigger Strange Podcast Stadium: Home of the Waterpigeons by a final score of 4-1. DudeMan went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. VJ Edgecombe got the win, improving to 3-9. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. By defeating California, the last-place Armadillos improved to 29-40.
Amarillo needed the clutch hitting of Tony Simms Jr to seal the deal. The left fielder swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Armadillos on top, 4-1. For the game, Simms Jr had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Simms Jr, "one at-bat at a time."
