The Wheelers grabbed a win, 2-1, at Balto Memorial Field at The Igloo, overcoming a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Chudigal Son. Son went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. George Fantobens got the save, the 5th for him this season. The win has Anchorage at 27-42.
Slime Sluggerton, who is tied for 2nd in the MiLPBE in bases on balls with 45, chipped in a 2-run home run for Anchorage in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Anchorage manager .
