Big Day for Walterson in 7-1 Armadillos Win
The exploits of first baseman Walter Walterson, who is tied for 10th in the MiLPBE in bases on balls with 37, helped the Amarillo Armadillos defeat the Puerto Rico Ranas, 7-1. Walterson went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Harold Smith. He tossed 85 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The win for the Armadillos lifted their record to 43-27.

Amarillo took a 5-1 lead on Walterson's 10th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Jean-Jacques François Jacques-Jean in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Amarillo to the win.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Walterson told reporters after the game.
