Flamingos Deal Lemurs 8-2 Loss
|
The Florida Flamingos beat the Louisville Lemurs, 8-2, at Colby Koffman Championship Field at The Jungle. Darius Maxwell was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. The 22-year old first baseman was a menace to Louisville all day. Knuckle Puck, the winner, is now 5-7. He struck out 4 and walked 2 over 5.2 innings, while allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The save was credited to Schmebblegop Zpungus, his 2nd.
Florida relied on the hitting of Johnny Golden to pick up the win. The designated hitter ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the second inning to put the Flamingos on top, 2-0. For the game, Golden had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I wish every win came this easy," said Maxwell.
With the win, the Flamingos have a record of 36-34.
