Wheelers Win, 4-3, Versus Bears
|
The Brew City Bears got a superb performance from pitcher Liru Wolf. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Anchorage. The Wheelers won the game, 4-3. Wolf threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Logan James snagged the win in relief. In 1.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 1-0 on the season. The third-place Wheelers lifted their record to 38-34.
Austen Webb drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Anchorage. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Winnie the Pabst. It was his 51st walk of the season.
Webb told a Anchorage Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
