Swift Steeds Win at Amarillo, 2-1
|
Kris Rice pitched a gem to lead State College to victory over the Amarillo Armadillos, 2-1. Porygon Two got the save, the 5th for him this season. The win for the Swift Steeds lifted their record to 39-33.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Brian Taylor? The 22-year old first baseman Taylor stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put State College up, 2-1. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"I thought Kris threw the ball well across the board," said State College manager .
