Wheelers Handle Chicago, Snag 5-2 Win
|
The Anchorage Wheelers beat the Chicago Kingpins, 5-2. Anchorage pitcher and Victoria, Canada, native Pickle Riedemann led the way. The victory puts Anchorage at 29-44.
In the bottom of the 4th, Anchorage took the lead on a 2-run single by Rex Jordan. At the time, the Wheelers were trailing 2-1, but Jordan's hit with two outs against Chicago pitcher Felix Burgous put them in front, 3-2.
"I know we have our doubters," said Chicago manager . "But I still have high hopes for this team."
