The Kansas City Hepcats besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Amarillo catcher Lestat de Lioncourt by beating the Armadillos, 11-9, at The Burrow Presented By Frankie's Fun Bites. de Lioncourt was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Elijah Miller picked up the win, lifting his record to 8-9 on the season. He struck out 3 and walked 4 in 5 innings, while yielding 3 runs. Kansas City has now won 3 in a row.

Kansas City used the timely hitting of A.J. Justice to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hepcats on top, 9-6. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Justice told the Kansas City Citizen.
