Due in large part to center fielder Josh Kupu, the Kansas City Hepcats sunk the State College Swift Steeds , 7-6. Kupu was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winner was CC Slothbia in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Cass Silskrumblin took the loss. The Hepcats have now reeled off 6 straight wins.

Kansas City used the timely hitting of Nathan Abel to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hepcats on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Abel.
