Chicago Sent Home with 3-2 Loss
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the California Firehawks and the Chicago Kingpins, Wah Wong, who leads the MiLPBE with a 7.0 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. The California left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Raul Chamgerlain, who is tied for 2nd in the MiLPBE in saves with 13, earned the save for California. California leads the West Division by 3 games.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Lance Gedra was at the plate when California scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Firehawks to go in front, 3-2.
"We put together a nice win," Gedra said.
