Bears Beat Swift Steeds , 6-4
|
The Brew City Bears beat the State College Swift Steeds , 6-4, at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. The Bears got a fine performance from shortstop Thicker Thick McThicc, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2. Ryan Alvarez went 5.1 innings for Brew City to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs. He scattered 5 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. His record improves to 5-7. The 4th-place Bears improved to 34-40.
In the bottom of the second, Patrick Eshenbaugh delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and the bases loaded, the Brew City left fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Bears in front, 6-4.
"We take it day by day here," said Eshenbaugh, "and today was a good one for us."
