Swift Steeds Roll to 9-2 Win Over Wheelers
|
The State College Swift Steeds got a strong performance from pitcher Scott Justice, who stymied the Anchorage offense en route to a win, 9-2, at Count Longardeaux's Strong Badian Dictionary Fo' My Own Words Stadium. Justice, now 7-7, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. State College has now won 3 straight, while the Wheelers have lost 4 in a row.
Bazooka Slow dealt the Wheelers a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and State College leading 1-0, Slow, who is tied for 8th in the MiLPBE in stolen bases with 32, hit a 2-2 knuckle curve for a 2-run triple.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Justice said. "We did a good job of that today."
