Bears Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Kingpins, 4-2
|
The Brew City Bears took Chicago pitcher Balker Wuehler's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. The final score had Brew City getting past the Kingpins, 4-2. Wuehler went 6 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 2. Bryce Wheeler was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 5 save opportunities. The Kingpins, at 24-51, have lost 5 straight games.
Had Lara Croft not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Croft hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Bears.
