Florida Tacks 4-1 Loss on Puerto Rico
|
The Florida Flamingos defeated the Puerto Rico Ranas, 4-1, in Minor League PBE action at Florida Man Park. Florida pitcher Myles Tremonti had a standout performance. Tremonti, now 9-5, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. The Ranas, now 19-56, have lost 4 straight.
The Flamingos got a big at-bat from right fielder Lionel McSkallywags. For the game, McSkallywags went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 11th double of the season gave Florida a 1-0 lead.
McSkallywags attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
