With Late Score, Kingpins Beat Flamingos
|
The Chicago Kingpins got a marvelous performance from pitcher XJ MacCannon. The right-hander kept the Florida offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 3-2 Chicago victory at Florida Man Park. Chicago reliever Dixie Rёcht picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. LaLa Dee was saddled with the loss. Johanna Fensterhausen was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 15 save opportunities.
Lazarus King came through with a big-time hit for Chicago. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
After the game, Chicago manager applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
With the win, Chicago upped its record to 43-33.
