Swift Steeds Upend Kingpins, 6-1
|
The State College Swift Steeds converted a terrific effort from starter Kris Rice into a win over the Chicago Kingpins at The Jose Forty-Three Stadium. The Swift Steeds won the game by a final score of 6-1. Rice picked up the win for State College, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 8-8. Earning the save was Cass Silskrumblin. He's now cashed in 12 of 16 save opportunities.
In the top of the fifth, State College left fielder Jaheem Butler had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and no one out, Butler stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 2-1, State College. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
