Flamingos Deal Amarillo 8-6 Defeat
|
The Florida Flamingos beat the Amarillo Armadillos, 8-6, at Florida Man Park. The Flamingos got a fine performance from third baseman Atlas Sluggs, who went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Daithi Kennedy-Senan. He tossed 91 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. The East Division-leading Flamingos are 49-27.
With Florida leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Sluggs hit a fastball from Hugh Jazz for a 2-run double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Flamingos ahead, 3-0.
"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Sluggs, "but we got it done."
