Kingpins Knock Off Wheelers, 10-6
|
The Chicago Kingpins topped the Anchorage Wheelers, 10-6, with right fielder Beryl Summers playing a big role. Summers went 3-5 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs for the Kingpins in the win. Chicago reliever Bauer Bottom picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. Joshua Chambers was tagged with the loss. Deviver Votto earned the save, his 2nd in 3 tries.
John Tatton aided the Chicago cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman drew 1 walk in 5 trips to the plate.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Summers.
The win gives the Kingpins a record of 25-51.
