Great Day for Ingram -- 5 Hits Friday, June 17th , 2072 A jubilant Chauncey Ingram joined the postgame press conference at The Brickyard today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the New Orleans Rougarous pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Indianapolis Apex first baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led the Apex to a 9-8 win. "He made it look easy," said , manager of the Rougarous. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Chauncey Ingram doubled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Steven Slothsburg in the 5th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
