Cancun Advances to Conference Finals Saturday, September 21st , 2058 The Cancun Toros didn't hold back their excitement after beating the Death Valley Scorpions in the Divisional Series tonight. Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 2-1 win moving the club on to the Conference Finals, clinching a 3-1 series win in front of the El Coliseo de los Toros crowd. "This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a World Series, so it's an important step," said Tony Simms as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on." Simms was named series MVP, as he hit .267 with a .250 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 2 runs. On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Scorpions sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Cancun celebrate.
