Saturday, July 27th , 2069
With the final, flawless out recorded, the Toronto Pathfinders piled onto Jihmih Beniko at the center of the The Lodge diamond. Beniko joined baseball's most hallowed club today, completing a perfect game against the San Antonio Sloths.
The 25-year-old right-hander kept the San Antonio offense guessing all day long and with some help from the defenders behind him, etched his name into the record books with the 2-0 shutout.
"His breaking pitches had more movement than I've ever seen from Jihmih," Toronto manager said in the postgame interview. "He made everyone's job easy today. He just saw a target and he hit it. Simple as that."
For the game, Beniko retired all 27 batters he faced and fanned 6 of them. He walked none and nobody got on base.
Checking out his stats for the season, Beniko has registered 5 wins and 7 losses in 18 starts, 4.75 ERA and struck out 98 batters in 108 innings.
