Dawson III Belts 3 HR for Pathfinders Monday, September 11th , 2073 It's a rare event when a player hits three homers in a game and rarer still when he does it and loses. It happened at The Lodge, as Peter Dawson III of the Toronto Pathfinders unloaded three times against the Vancouver Vandals but was still bumped off, 9-8, by the Vandals. "We were lucky to win today," said Vancouver skipper . "You can't give up that many home runs and expect to win on a regular basis." For the game, the Toronto first baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 times, and drove in 7. Dawson III spoke to the writers in the postgame press room with mixed feelings, saying he was sad to lose but happy to be seeing the ball well. "I was just trying to swing early and often to give myself a chance," he said. "I let the pitcher supply all the power and try to figure out how to get the bat on the ball." Peter Dawson III hit a solo-shot off Andy Beans in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Andy Beans in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Alejandro Abasi in the 7th. Dawson III is currently batting .273 with 18 home runs and 65 RBIs. |
