Walker Put in Cooler, Hitless Against New York Sunday, June 23rd , 2075 All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Brooks Walker as he saw his 20-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 4 at-bats at the hands of the New York Voyagers. It wasn't all bad for the 33-year-old shortstop and the Vancouver Vandals however, as they defeated New York, 5-4, at The Thunderdome. When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Walker laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today." So far this year, Walker is batting .349 with 15 home runs, 29 RBIs and 31 runs scored. |
