Althouse Bangs 3 HR Against Toronto Friday, July 17th , 2076 Lunar Base Space Rangers first baseman Link Althouse put on a dazzling display of power at The Lodge against the Toronto Pathfinders. In the 8-4 Space Rangers victory, Althouse penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Toronto manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 31-year-old had 4 hits in 6 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Althouse said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Link Althouse hit a solo-shot off Biz Kitmaker in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Stetson Mixon in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Siegmeyer of Catarina in the 8th and struck out in the 9th. So far on the season, Althouse is hitting .314 with 6 home runs, 16 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 81 hits and played in 63 games. |
