July's Best Champions Hurler is Boat Saturday, August 1st , 2076 In July when Nashville Stars reliever Tugg Boat was beckoned in from the bullpen, it spelled "Relief" with a capital "R." He usually put a very quick end to any budding rallies. For his sensational mound work he was voted the Champions Conference Pitcher of the Month. The Nashville reliever had 2 saves for the month with a 4-0 record and 3.31 ERA. He made 8 relief appearances, hurled 16.1 innings, yielded 17 hits, fanned 10 and walked 5. To date he has nailed down 5 saves for his club. In 26 relief appearances, Boat has 41 strikeouts in 52.2 innings with a 4.27 ERA and a 6-2 mark. |
