Briggs Touches All Bases, Hits for Cycle
Wednesday, July 7th , 2077
Bobby Briggs accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball when he hit for the cycle against the Seattle Sea Serpents in the 10-4 Nashville Stars win at Gibson Soundstage.
Afterward, Briggs acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Stars win.
"Maybe one day I'll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game," Briggs said.
On his historic day, he went 4-for-4 with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the history books.
Bobby Briggs doubled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Harlem Moncrief in the 7th.
This year, Briggs is hitting .249 with 8 home runs and 29 RBIs in 55 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .317 with 19 walks and 21 runs scored.
