Week's Premier Performer Honored by Champions Monday, August 30th , 2077 Not every ball that came off Victor Cortez's bat last week was a line drive or a towering shot -- it just seemed that way to the teams that played the Cancun Toros. For his exploits, Cortez was named this week's Champions Conference Player of the Week award. The Cancun first baseman put up 10 hits in 21 at-bats and 2 home runs while hitting .476 with 6 RBIs and 5 runs scored. This season, Cortez has posted a batting average of .300 with 108 hits in 360 at-bats, 22 home runs and 81 RBIs. He has also scored 66 runs, walked 52 times and compiled a .381 OBP. |
