Seattle Stops Traveler Hit Streak
Sunday, May 1st , 2078
The Providence Crabs lost to the Seattle Sea Serpents, 4-2, at The Aquadome, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Grayle Traveler's 23-game hitting streak. The left fielder went 0-for-3 on the day.
"We felt if we could slow down Traveler, we would win the game," Sea Serpents manager explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down."
This year, Traveler is hitting .442 with no home runs and 7 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .478 clip and scored 6 runs.
