Jackson Joins HOF Legends
Wednesday, January 1st , 2070
On a bright, windy afternoon, Loren Jackson, the superb shortstop, stood outside the doors to the Pro Baseball Experience Hall of Fame. He collected his thoughts and tried to contain his emotions before entering the shrine to baseball's greatest players.
Jackson later disclosed some of his thoughts to reporters at the press conference. "To be numbered among these great players," he said, "some of them my idols growing up... that's almost too much to fit my mind around."
Nevertheless, this outstanding performer stepped through those doors to claim his place among baseball's immortals. His induction into the Hall of Fame, which took place yesterday, surprised nobody. He collected votes from 100.0% of the writers.
Loren Jackson was 35 when he retired from baseball. In 1188 career games he compiled a .266 batting average with 1233 hits, 72 home runs, 481 RBIs and 704 runs scored.
