Ottov Enters PBE Hall of Fame Wednesday, January 1st , 2070 "When the game was on the line, I wanted Yeoj Ottov on the mound for me. Tired, sick, or otherwise. Nobody was better at finishing off a game," said one of his managers at Ottov's Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The splendid relief specialist finished off enough games to be admitted to the Pro Baseball Experience Hall of Fame. Ottov appeared in 686 games and saved 171 of them. By the time he retired at age 28, he had amassed 61 victories while compiling a 2.97 ERA and fanning 1267 batters in 1027.2 innings. Ottov also suffered 67 losses in his career. Another manager spoke on his behalf at the induction, saying, "He was one heck of a pitcher, with great stuff and great command of his pitches, plus he had a great attitude and disposition, totally team-oriented ... never was about his stats. Yeoj probably doesn't even know today how many games he won. That's why he made the Hall of Fame." Ottov retired from baseball at the age of 28. |
