Barrage of Hits Gets Bobrist Champions Award Monday, July 18th , 2078 Detroit fans have something to crow about today as Detroit second baseman Zen Bobrist nabbed the Champions Conference Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Bobrist. He posted a .607 average (17-for-28) this past week with 5 home runs, 15 RBIs, and 9 runs scored. This season, Bobrist is swinging the bat at a .337 pace. He has hit 11 home runs and scored 45 times, while driving in 39. His on-base percentage is .395 and he has played in 63 games. |
