3-Homer Hat Trick for Jones Wednesday, June 21st , 2079 New Orleans Rougarous second baseman Curtis Jones sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Death Valley Scorpions, Jones told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Jones pushed the Rougarous past the Scorpions, 7-4. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Jones told reporters after the game. Curtis Jones hit a two-run home run off Deviver Votto in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Deviver Votto in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off M4XX V3L0 in the 5th and struck out in the 7th. To date this year, Jones is batting .287 with 10 home runs. |
