Champions Star of the Week Announced Monday, June 26th , 2079 New Orleans fans have something to crow about today as New Orleans second baseman Curtis Jones nabbed the Champions Conference Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Jones. He posted a .368 average (7-for-19) this past week with 4 home runs, 10 RBIs, and 6 runs scored. So far on the season, Jones is hitting .280 with 10 home runs, 36 RBIs and 29 runs scored. He has 52 hits and played in 50 games. |
