Payne Parks 3 for New York
Thursday, May 1st , 2070
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Brian Payne can celebrate.
The New York Voyagers designated hitter powered three into the stands at Vaughn's House today against the Indianapolis Apex.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Payne told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Voyagers toppled Indianapolis by a score of 11-1, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 3 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," New York manager said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Brian Payne hit a two-run home run off Maurice Bernard in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Maurice Bernard in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Romeo McFlourish in the 7th.
This season Payne is batting at a .366 clip with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs.
