Hitting Streak Still Alive for McDaniel Friday, July 24th , 2071 The Outer Banks Aviators fell to the Toronto Pathfinders in The Lodge today, even as 31-year-old right fielder Shrimp McDaniel upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25 games. McDaniel finished with 2 hits in 5 at-bats, but could not stop the Aviators from dropping the 10-5 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said McDaniel. Shrimp McDaniel singled in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. This season McDaniel is swinging the bat at a .345 rate with 95 hits in 275 at-bats. To date he has hit 8 home runs, scored 37 runs and driven in 42. |
