Swift Steeds Snap Ruiz Jr.'s Streak at 20 Sunday, May 22nd , 2072 Brew City defeated State College 5-4 today at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House, but saw the 20-game hitting streak of Bears third baseman Julio Ruiz Jr. snapped -- the Swift Steeds held Ruiz Jr. hitless in 4 at-bats. "I enjoyed the streak," he said in a BNN interview after the game. "It's great in one way, but the day-to-day pressure to keep it going can be tough to handle, too. The main thing is we got the win today. That's all that really counts." This season Ruiz Jr. is batting at a .362 clip with 5 home runs and 15 RBIs. |
