Gauthier's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Thursday, August 18th , 2072 The State College Swift Steeds stopped the Kansas City Hepcats today 5-3 and Romain Gauthier collected a base hit yet again. The State College left fielder finished with 2 hits to run his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20. "I want to get a hit every time up," a visibly excited Gauthier told reporters after the contest. "I want to get a hit every game I play. Right now, I feel like I could take this streak to 100 games." Romain Gauthier singled in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ea Nasir in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. This season Gauthier is batting .291 with 102 hits, 20 home runs, 59 RBIs, 57 walks, .389 OBP and has scored 57 runs. He has played in 87 games. |
