Flamingos End Gauthier's Streak Sunday, August 21st , 2072 It was a doubly miserable day today for Romain Gauthier of the State College Swift Steeds , as he saw his 21-game hitting streak end and his team lose 5-4 to the Florida Flamingos at Florida Man Park. The 22-year-old left fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Flamingos. "Anyone on a 21-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Florida manager said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." This season Gauthier is hitting at a .290 pace with 20 home runs, 59 RBIs and has scored 58 times. |
