Cortez Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games Sunday, May 8th , 2067 Victor Cortez, center fielder for the Chicago Kingpins, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 3 hits in his club's 8-7 victory today over the Louisville Lemurs at Kenny Payne Appreciation Stadium today. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Victor Cortez flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, tripled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Cortez is hitting .324 with 22 hits, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and has scored 9 runs. |
