Dog Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Saturday, September 2nd , 2073 Chalk up another one for Amarillo Armadillos second baseman Mortimer Dog. He now has hit in 20 straight games. Dog went 1-for-4 in today's game at Colby Koffman Championship Field at The Jungle but saw his club defeated, 4-0, by the host Louisville Lemurs. "Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Armadillos manager said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Mortimer Dog singled in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and flied out in the 8th. So far this season, Dog has gotten 132 hits in 386 at-bats for a .342 batting average with 11 home runs. His stats include 82 RBIs and 65 runs scored. He has played in 98 games. |
