Florida Owner Succumbs to Illness, Son Joe Takes Over
Saturday, January 19th , 2075
Despondent and forlorn are the streets of Florida today. The Florida Flamingos baseball team has lost its leader, owner Alex Beltre. He died suddenly yesterday, while on vacation. Club officials briefed the press today on the situation and released funeral plans. Services will be held day after tomorrow in Florida. As far as who will take over for Beltre, the Florida Flamingos spokesman indicated it would be dealt with in the near future, but he had no word on who the successor would be. Press speculation is that Beltre's son, Joe, would be his replacement as owner. The younger Beltre was characterized by sources high up in the Florida Flamingos hierarchy as generous when it comes to money and lenient when it comes to management.
