Kansas City Snaps Rainier Streak at 20 Wednesday, July 24th , 2075 The Kansas City Hepcats pitching staff did its job, holding hot-hitting J.B. Rainier hitless in 5 at-bats during the club's 5-2 victory over the Brew City Bears at Walter Partlo Memorial Stadium at The Tap House. The disappointing performance ended a 20-game hitting streak for the first baseman. "I'm a little down right now," Rainier said after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me, and I hated to see the streak end, too." This year, Rainier is batting .280 with 81 hits and 9 home runs.
