This Week's Star Player is Squires Monday, August 5th , 2075 Anchorage fans have something to crow about today as Anchorage first baseman Cameron Squires nabbed the Minor League PBE Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Squires. He posted a .474 average (9-for-19) this past week with 3 home runs, 7 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. This season, Squires is swinging the bat at a .297 pace. He has hit 16 home runs and scored 43 times, while driving in 60. His on-base percentage is .362 and he has played in 76 games. |
