The team has been officially eliminated from playoff contention. Before this season, the Wheelers had made the playoffs 3 times in a row. In the 49 years they have been a Minor League PBE franchise, they have missed the playoffs 25 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Wheelers have missed the playoffs 2 times.
