Florida Snaps Mexicano Streak at 20 Wednesday, August 25th , 2077 The streak has been snapped. El Grande Mexicano failed to get a hit in today's game against the Florida Flamingos, bringing his 20-game hitting spree to an end. The 23-year-old Chicago left fielder was 0-for-3, but the Kingpins got the win and defeated the Flamingos, 5-2. "I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Mexicano said. "I got to 20 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?" Mexicano is hitting .332 this year with 11 home runs, 59 RBIs and 56 runs scored. He has 128 hits in 385 at-bats, 35 walks and a .386 on-base percentage. Mexicano has played in 92 games. |
