Martin Hits in 20 Straight Games Tuesday, July 12th , 2078 Chalk up another one for Amarillo Armadillos left fielder Ben Martin. He now has hit in 20 straight games. Martin went 1-for-4 in today's game at Kay Faraday Memorial Stadium but saw his club defeated, 7-5, by the host Puerto Rico Ranas. "Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Armadillos manager said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Ben Martin grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. In 59 games this season, Martin is batting .340 with 83 hits and 12 home runs. He has scored 42 runs and driven in 39. |
